The timing for tropical development in the western Caribbean is between Thursday, Nov. 14, and Monday, Nov. 18, according to AccuWeather. (See the image above.)

“We’ll likely be dealing with a hurricane as we head into this weekend," AccuWeather Lead Hurricane Expert Alex DaSilva said. "There is increasing confidence that a tropical storm will develop in the central to western Caribbean later this week.

“We could be dealing with a storm that rapidly intensifies into a major hurricane in these very conducive conditions. The atmosphere is primed for development.”

Sara is the next name on the list of tropical storms for the season, which runs through Saturday, Nov. 30.

The storms will get a boost on Wednesday, Nov. 13 "when wind shear starts to fade away,"  AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno noted, adding that "a front will provide more upward motion by midweek, helping these storms organize.”

“If an area of high pressure to the north is stronger, the storm will likely be pushed west into Central America," DaSilva said "If the area of high pressure is weaker, that could allow the storm to turn to the north toward Florida."
